Your SSL/TLS certificate from Loopia is bought in 1-year periods, and within that period we revalidate that you own the domain via DNS roughly every 200 days, so your website keeps working over HTTPS with the padlock in the browser. Last checked: 2026-09-30.
How renewal works
The 200-day limit is not the length of your purchased period – it is how often the domain must be validated again. This is an industry-wide security requirement: from March 2026, domain validations are valid for at most 200 days, and the period will be shortened further in the coming years.
If you use Loopia’s name servers, we handle this process automatically via DNS.
If you use external name servers, you need to add or update the DNS validation record before each validation. We notify you with the new record when it is time, and you can always find the current record in the Loopia Customer Zone.
The DNS record consists of a subdomain that you add in your DNS settings at your DNS provider, with the string you receive added as a CNAME. In the example below, for the domain onetrickpony.se, you would:
- Create the subdomain _29e0fbf2edb4667173371623291c70a8.onetrickpony.se
- Add a CNAME with the value 9cf497a17f8b45ed0a9a5b2357cae6ec.96f080d03061d072d89cedd4df73da26.b9ce37ae0.comodoca.com
This is only an example. You must enter the exact values in the message from us, which you can also find in your Loopia Customer Zone.
Remember to complete the validation within the stated time each time, so that your certificate stays valid.
