To upload your website to Loopia you need an FTP client (file upload program) and an FTP account. You create the FTP account yourself in the Loopia Customer Zone, and a common choice of client is FileZilla, which is free and available for Windows, macOS and GNU/Linux.
What you need
- A web hosting account with Loopia.
- An FTP account with a username and password, which you create in the Loopia Customer Zone.
- An FTP client installed on your computer.
- The server address ftpcluster.loopia.se, which you enter when you connect.
Create an FTP account
You create an FTP account yourself in the Loopia Customer Zone. Once logged in, click FTP under Add/Create in the right-hand side panel and follow the instructions.

If you choose another program, look for three things: that it is available for your operating system, that it supports encrypted transfer with TLS/SSL (FTPS) so your password isn’t sent in plain text, and that you can save your connections so you don’t have to enter the details every time.
How to connect to your web hosting
- Start your FTP client.
- Enter ftpcluster.loopia.se as the host or server.
- Enter the username and password for your FTP account.
- Choose an encrypted connection with TLS/SSL if the client asks, and connect.
- You now see the folders in your account. Put your website’s files in the public_html folder.
