Website not visible after publishing

If your website is not visible after you upload it via FTP (File Transfer Protocol), it is almost always because the files have been placed in the wrong folder on the Loopia FTP server. To make sure your website is displayed correctly, the files must be placed in the /example.com/public_html/ folder on the FTP server (replace example.com with your domain name).

Where to place your website files

Everything inside the public_html folder for your domain is published to the web and accessible to visitors. Anything outside that folder is only accessible via FTP or from a script running on your website — it is not served to visitors.

If you have uploaded files to the wrong location, simply move them into /example.com/public_html/ using your FTP client (file upload program) and your website will appear at your domain shortly afterwards.
