Let’s Encrypt is a free, automated SSL (TLS) certificate authority that lets your domain run over HTTPS (secure HTTP). At Loopia, Let’s Encrypt certificates can be created automatically for domains using our web platforms, so your visitors see the padlock (lock icon) in their browsers.
Let’s Encrypt is included and created automatically
Free SSL certificates from Let’s Encrypt are included in all Loopia web hosting packages, and are installed automatically on all domains using our web platforms Unix, Boost, Autobahn and Windows. Creation and automatic renewal are included. Certificates are not created for parked domains or forwardings. Last checked: 2026-09-30.
To use SSL via Let’s Encrypt, you only need to configure your domain, sub-domain or sub-sub-domain to use “Website with Loopia”.
Within an hour, a new SSL certificate will be created automatically and then renewed every three months for as long as the domain stays on our platform. If the domain was registered recently or has just been moved to our name servers, it can take longer – up to 48 hours in exceptional cases.
You can check whether the certificate is active by visiting your domain at https://.
If no certificate has been created within an hour, it is usually because the domain has just been registered or recently redirected to our nameservers. Creation can then take a few more hours (up to 48 hours in some cases).

Loopia Sitebuilder also supports SSL via Let’s Encrypt
Loopia Sitebuilder also uses SSL via Let’s Encrypt. When you publish your site for the first time, a new certificate is created within an hour. You can then visit your Sitebuilder website via https://.
I want to upload my own certificate
If you have issued your own certificate, you can upload it in your Customer Zone using this guide.
I have a certificate, but my website is not secure
Note that once the SSL certificate has been created, you also need to redirect traffic on your website so that visitors only reach it over HTTPS. See this guide.
If you want our support team to redirect your site to HTTPS for you, they can assist at an hourly rate.
