Registry Lock (a transfer and modification lock applied at the TLD registry) is an extra security service that protects your .se and .nu domain names from unwanted changes or deletion. Loopia offers Registry Lock free of charge for these domains.
What Registry Lock does
Registry Lock protects .se and .nu domain names by locking the domain against changes at the registry level (the Swedish Internet Foundation’s central .se/.nu database). While the lock is active, the following actions are blocked on the domain:
- Updates to the domain name (renewals are still processed normally)
- Updates or changes to the name server (DNS server) delegation
- Deregistration cannot be performed. The domain will still go to quarantine/redemption if it is not paid on time, and be released afterwards
- Owner change (registrant transfer) to a new holder
- Transfer (redelegation) to another registrar
How to activate Registry Lock
To activate the service, contact registry@loopia.se with your customer number and the domain name(s) you want the lock active on.
If you later need us to temporarily unlock the domain name, or to remove the lock completely, you also need to contact us at the same address.

If you would like to lock domain names other than .se and .nu, please contact us at registry@loopia.se and we will look into what we can do for the relevant top-level domain.
