Transfer your domain name to Loopia and become our customer as the registrar (the company responsible for renewing and managing your domain) in two steps: add the domain to your Loopia account, then start a transfer so we take over the administrative responsibility. Both steps, and the requirements per top-level domain, are described below.
Add your domain to a Loopia account
Before we can take over the management of your domain, you need to add the domain to an account with us. You can do this in the Loopia Customer Zone under the heading “What would you like to do?” by choosing Buy or add domain name > Add domain name. If you do not yet have a Loopia account, you can easily create one here. Note that you can only add domain names where the account holder is also the domain holder.
Redelegation (point your domain to Loopia’s name servers)
To get started with your services at Loopia as quickly as possible, you can ask your current provider to switch the domain to our name servers before you start a transfer. A name server change can take up to 48 hours to take full effect, but it usually completes much faster.

Name servers cannot be changed while a transfer is in progress. For .com, for example, we therefore recommend changing the name servers and checking that the domain responds as expected before you start the transfer. Last checked: 2026-09-30.
Transfer (move the registrar responsibility to Loopia)
A transfer means that Loopia takes over the administrative and technical responsibility for the domain and handles its future renewals. A transfer normally takes 3–5 days (except for .SE, .NU and .EU, which transfer almost immediately). Once it is finished, Loopia is the registrar for your domain. You can check who the registrar of a domain is at whois.loopia.com.

Requirements for .se and .nu
The following conditions must be met:
- The domain name must be placed in the holder’s account.
- You need an authorisation code (auth-code, EPP code), which you get from your current registrar. The code must be in the format <TLD>-<expire date>-<registrar>-<unique token>, for example SE-230506-TESTAB-8fb1afcd-fc92-4809-a77f-b8641b7723ab.
Once you have the authorisation code, log in to your account, click the domain name in the list under Domain names, and then click Transfer of domain name.
Requirements for .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .mobi, .name, .tv, .store, .app, .blog, .cloud, .club, .dev, .email, .global, .graphics, .gratis, .guru, .life, .link, .online, .shop, .site, .tech, .top, .website and .xyz
The following conditions must be met:
- The domain name must be placed in the holder’s account.
- The domain name must be unlocked and active (status OK or Active).
- There must be at least 30 days left before the domain name expires.
- The domain name must have been registered with the current provider for at least 60 days.
- You need an authorisation code (auth-code, EPP code), which you get from your current provider.
Once you have the authorisation code, log in to your account, click the domain name in the list under Domain names, and then click Transfer of domain name.
Requirements for .eu
The following conditions must be met:
- The domain name must be placed in the holder’s account.
- You need an authorisation code (auth-code, EPP code), which you get from your current registrar or from EURid.
- The name servers are changed to ns1.loopia.se and ns2.loopia.se when the transfer completes, so we strongly recommend reviewing your DNS records before you start the transfer.
Once you have the authorisation code, log in to your account, click the domain name in the list under Domain names, and then click Transfer of domain name.
Requirements for .fi
The following conditions must be met:
- The domain name must be placed in the holder’s account.
- You need an authorisation code (auth-code, EPP code), which you get from your current registrar.
- The name servers are changed to ns1.loopia.se and ns2.loopia.se when the transfer completes, so we strongly recommend reviewing your DNS records before you start the transfer.
Once you have the authorisation code, log in to your account, click the domain name in the list under Domain names, and then click Transfer of domain name.
Requirements for .be
The following conditions must be met:
- The domain name must be placed in the holder’s account.
- You need an authorisation code (auth-code, EPP code), which you order at dns.be.
Once you have the authorisation code, log in to your account, click the domain name in the list under Domain names, and then click Transfer of domain name.
Requirements for .co.uk and .org.uk
The following conditions must be met:
- The domain name must be placed in the holder’s account.
- Log in to your account and start a transfer by clicking the domain name in the list under Domain names, and then Transfer of domain name.
You should then see a TAG in the Loopia Customer Zone, which you give to your current provider.
Requirements for .me, .pl, .at, .io and .cc
The following conditions must be met:
- The domain name must be placed in the holder’s account.
- The domain name must be unlocked and active (status OK or Active).
- If the domain currently has WHOIS protection (private registration), your current registrar must remove it, since we do not support it.
- You must be listed as the administrative contact with a working email address.
- There must be at least 30 days left before the domain name expires.
- The domain name must have been registered with the current provider for at least 60 days.
- You need an authorisation code (auth-code, EPP code), which you get from your current provider.
Once you have the authorisation code, log in to your account, click the domain name in the list under Domain names, and then click Transfer of domain name.
Requirements for .no
The following conditions must be met:
- The domain name must be placed in the holder’s account.
- You need an authorisation code (auth-code, EPP code), which you get from your current registrar.
- If you don’t have an authorisation code, contact us at registry@loopia.se with the domain name and your customer number.
Once you have the authorisation code, log in to your account, click the domain name in the list under Domain names, and then click Transfer of domain name.
