Domain redelegation (changing the name servers your domain points to) lets you keep your domain at one provider while using another company’s DNS servers. To change name servers through Loopia Customer Zone, Loopia must be the registrar for your domain name.
Check who the registrar is
Go to whois.loopia.com, enter your domain and select Search. In the results, check whether Loopia AB is listed as the registrar.
If Loopia is not the registrar, you need to transfer the domain to us before you can change its name servers here. Read more about transferring a domain to Loopia.
How to change name servers in Customer Zone
- Log in to Loopia Customer Zone and click the domain name. If it isn’t visible in the list, use the Search your services field.
- In the dialog that opens, click Name servers.
- Enter your desired name servers (DNS servers) in the fields shown. At least two name servers are required.
- If you want to use Loopia’s name servers, enter ns1.loopia.se and ns2.loopia.se. If you are delegating the domain to another provider, ask them which name servers to use.
- Click Save.

What if the new name servers don’t respond?
For the delegation to go through, the two name servers you enter must be configured to handle your domain name. If they do not respond correctly, the change will not be made.
You can override this by clicking Force to delegate the domain anyway, even without a correct response from the chosen name servers.
Confirmation and propagation time
When the change has been saved successfully you will see the confirmation below. Note that updates can take up to 48 hours to fully propagate across the internet.

You can verify the change has taken effect by searching for your domain name at whois.loopia.com.
