How do you manage the navigation menu – links, actions and alignment – in Loopia Sitebuilder?

In Loopia Sitebuilder you can have anything from a simple navigation to a complex hierarchy of pages and subpages. You customise your navigation items and assign them different actions in the Navigation settings window.

Every template comes with a navigation menu enabled in the Header block. To begin with, you only have one page on your site and in the navigation menu – Home. When you create more pages, they’re added to the navigation menu automatically unless you untick Show in navigation. In that case the page won’t appear in the list, but you can add it manually.

In the Navigation settings window you can:

  • Add a new item to the navigation menu by clicking the (+) button.
  • Remove a page from the navigation menu.
  • Change the order of navigation items.
  • Change items’ click actions.
  • Rename items.

Note: you can’t add new pages from the Navigation settings window – use the Page Manager for that.

Opening Navigation settings

Click the Navigation button in the top bar, or click the navigation menu itself and then the folder tree icon.

Editing Navigation settings

  • Change the order of items by dragging and dropping them.
  • Open an item’s settings to change its name and click action – click the gear icon next to its name.
  • Remove an item from the navigation (without deleting the page itself) by clicking the bin icon next to it.

Click actions available in the dropdown:

  • Open a page: the link opens a page on your site.
  • Make a phone call: visitors can call you without leaving the site.
  • Send an email: visitors can email you directly.
  • Download a file: visitors can download a file.
  • Scroll to a block: the link scrolls to another block on the page.
  • Open a web address: the link opens an external URL.

Once you’ve chosen a click action, enter the item’s name in the Title field below.
