In Sitebuilder you can make your images interactive by assigning a click action. The available actions are:
- Show full-size image (for images in Gallery blocks)
- Open a page
- Scroll to a block
- Open a web address
- Make a phone call
- Send an email
- Download a file
For example, a banner reading “Click here to visit our Instagram” can take the visitor to your Instagram profile.
Note: click actions are available for all regular images except background images and the site logo.
Setting a click action
- Click the image and then the Media settings icon. The controls may appear above, below or beside the image depending on where the block sits.
- In Media settings, find the click action dropdown and choose an option.
- Click Save to confirm.
- When you’ve finished customising, click Publish to apply the change.
You can also right-click the image to open the context menu, choose Set a click action, pick the action from the dropdown, click Save and publish your site.
The click actions in detail
Show full-size image
Visitors can expand the image to full screen when they click it. This is only available for images in Gallery blocks.
Open a page
Links the image to a page on your site, chosen from a dropdown.
Scroll to a block
Takes the visitor to a chosen block on the same page.
Open a web address
Type or paste the URL where the visitor should land after clicking, and tick Open in a new tab and Add a Nofollow tag if needed.
Make a phone call
Clicking the image starts a phone call – the phone app on the visitor’s mobile (or a calling app such as Skype on a computer) opens with the number filled in. Enter your phone number in international format.
Send an email
Connects the image to an email client. Type or paste the email address visitors should send messages to.
Download a file
Lets visitors download a file when they click the image. Add the file from your computer by clicking Choose file. Download on computer is selected by default – click the radio button next to Open in a new tab to open the file in a new tab instead.
Removing a click action
Open the image’s Media settings and choose No action in the dropdown. Then click Save and Publish to confirm.
