How do you create text links in Loopia Sitebuilder – to pages, blocks, web addresses and files?

In Sitebuilder you can turn any part of your text into a link – to another page, a block on the same page, an external web address, a phone number, an email address or a downloadable file.

  1. Select the text you want to turn into a link.
  2. In the text control panel, click the Link icon.
  3. In Link settings, choose the link’s click action from the dropdown.
  4. Fill in the matching fields for that click action and click Submit.

Available click actions: Open a page, Scroll to a block, Open a web address, Make a phone call, Send an email and Download a file.

Linking to another page

  1. Choose Open a page in the click action dropdown.
  2. Choose the page you want to link to from the second dropdown.
  3. If you have a multilingual site, choose the page’s language and the right page.
  4. Change the link title in the Title field if you want.
  5. Click Submit and publish your site to apply the change.

Linking to another block

  1. Choose Scroll to a block in the click action dropdown.
  2. In Choose block, select the block the link should lead to.
  3. Change the link title if you want.
  4. Click Submit and publish your site.

Linking to a URL

  1. Choose Open a web address in the click action dropdown.
  2. Type or paste the URL of the other site in the next field.
  3. Choose Open in new tab if you like. Tick Add a nofollow tag if you don’t want to share your domain authority with the page you’re linking to.
  4. Click Submit and publish your site.

Sitebuilder lets you make your phone number clickable, so the phone app on the visitor’s mobile (or a calling app such as Skype on a computer) opens with the number filled in when they tap or click.

  1. Choose Make a phone call in the click action dropdown.
  2. Enter the phone number to call when the visitor clicks the link.
  3. Change the title if needed.
  4. Click Submit and publish your site.
  1. Choose Send an email in the click action dropdown.
  2. Type or paste the email address that should receive messages when someone clicks the link.
  3. Change the title if needed.
  4. Click Submit and publish your site.

When visitors click the link, their default email client opens with your address in the To: field.

Note: the browser needs a default email client installed on the visitor’s computer – for example Gmail, Apple Mail or similar. If the visitor uses Microsoft Outlook as their default client, clicking the link opens a new message window in Outlook.

Linking to a downloadable file

Select the text that should lead to the download (for example price list) and choose Download a file in the click action menu. See the separate article on adding links to downloadable files for details.

  1. Click the link you want to remove, then the Link icon in the text control panel.
  2. In Link settings, click Delete link.
  3. Click Submit to confirm and publish your site.
