If you see a “Clipboard access denied” pop-up, your browser has blocked clipboard access for the site. To fix this, adjust your browser settings to allow clipboard permissions – follow the steps for your browser below.
Google Chrome
- Open Chrome’s settings by clicking the three vertical dots in the top right and choosing Settings.
- Go to Privacy and security in the left-hand menu.
- Click Site settings.
- Scroll down to Permissions and click Clipboard.
- Find the site in the list of blocked sites, click the dropdown next to it and choose Allow.
Microsoft Edge
- Open Edge’s settings by clicking the three horizontal dots in the top right and choosing Settings.
- In the left-hand menu, click Cookies and site permissions.
- Scroll down and click Clipboard.
- Find the site in the list of blocked sites, click the dropdown next to it and choose Allow.
Opera
- Click the Opera logo in the top left to open the menu.
- Choose Settings from the dropdown, or press Alt + P to open settings directly.
- Scroll down and click Advanced to show more options, then click Privacy and security.
- In the Privacy and security section, click Site settings.
- Scroll down and find the Clipboard section under Permissions.
- Click Clipboard and find the site in the list of blocked sites.
- Click the dropdown next to it and choose Allow.
General tips
- Reload the page: after changing your browser settings, reload the page where clipboard access is needed.
- Clear cache and cookies: settings changes sometimes only take effect after clearing your cache and cookies, which you can do in your browser’s privacy settings.
- Update your browser: make sure you’re running the latest version.
- Check extensions: browser extensions can also block clipboard access. Temporarily disable extensions to see if they’re causing the issue.
