Every Sitebuilder template comes with demo text, which you can replace with your own by typing or pasting it in, or delete if you don’t need it.
Removing demo text from a page
You can delete any text in Sitebuilder using your keyboard’s standard keys: Backspace and Delete on Windows, or Backspace and fn+Backspace on macOS.
- Backspace deletes the character to the left of the cursor.
- Delete (or fn+Backspace on Mac) deletes the character to the right of the cursor.
Once a character is deleted, the rest of the text closes up to fill the gap. You can also hold down Backspace or Delete to keep deleting characters.
There are two ways to delete larger chunks of text:
- Delete a word: double-click the word to select it, then press Delete or Backspace.
- Delete a paragraph: triple-click the paragraph, then press Delete or Backspace.
Sitebuilder then adjusts the remaining text and adapts the block’s design automatically.
Adding your own text
To replace demo text, type your text directly into the text box, over the placeholder text.
You can also copy text from your text editor (MS Word, Google Docs and so on) and paste it straight onto the page – existing formatting is preserved.
- To copy text to the clipboard: select it and press Cmd ⌘+C (macOS) or Ctrl+C (Windows).
- To paste from the clipboard: press Cmd ⌘+V (macOS) or Ctrl+V (Windows).
Tip: to quickly select a whole paragraph, place the cursor in it and press Cmd ⌘+A (macOS) or Ctrl+A (Windows).
You can also customise and format your text with the text toolbar that appears when you edit.
