How do I change the owner of my domain names?

At Loopia you can quickly and easily change the owner (registrant) of a domain name through Loopia Customer Zone. An owner change transfers the domain to a new account belonging to the new owner.

How to start an owner change

  1. Log in to Loopia Customer Zone.
  2. Go to Account Settings → Owner change of hosting account and/or domain names.
  3. Click Start owner change.
  4. Select the domain names you want to hand over.
  5. Enter the new owner’s information on the next page.

Domain types that require signed forms

Certain types of domain names require you to print and sign forms. If this applies to your transfer, prefilled forms will be ready to print on the next page.

What happens after you start the change?

An email message is sent to the new owner with a link to confirm the owner change and approve our terms. Once the new owner has done this, just wait until the transfer is completed.

In the meantime you can view the status of your current owner changes under Account Settings → Owner change of hosting account and/or domain names.

Important: DNS and email are not transferred

The domain name will automatically be removed from the original account and added to an account for the new owner when the owner change is carried out. This means that any DNS settings (zone entries), web content and email for the domain name will disappear. Make a backup beforehand if you need to keep this data.
