Email servers

This article lists the Loopia email server settings you need to connect an email client (Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird, Android, iPhone, etc.) to your Loopia mailbox — including IMAP, POP3 and SMTP host names, ports and encryption.

When setting up your account, remember that your username is always your full email address (for example, name@example.com), and that authentication is required for sending mail.

Need a step-by-step guide for a specific client? See our guides for the most common email clients.

Incoming server (IMAP/POP3)

Use these settings for the incoming server, which is where your email client fetches new messages from.

Server: mailcluster.loopia.se
Port IMAP (no encryption / STARTTLS): 143
Port IMAP (SSL/TLS): 993
Port POP3 (no encryption / STARTTLS): 110
Port POP3 (SSL/TLS): 995

Outgoing server (SMTP)

Use these settings for the outgoing server, which is what your email client uses to send mail.

Server: mailcluster.loopia.se
Port (no encryption / STARTTLS): 587
Port (SSL/TLS): 465

We recommend always using SSL/TLS or STARTTLS encryption when connecting, so that your username, password and messages are protected in transit.

We also recommend using IMAP rather than POP3 whenever possible. POP3 works poorly when several devices use the same email account, because messages are downloaded to a single device and may disappear from the others.
