The HTML widget in the Custom block lets you add a third-party HTML snippet to your Loopia Sitebuilder website and combine it with other widgets – such as text, images or a second HTML widget – in the same block. It works like the HTML embed block, but gives you more layout freedom.
Note: adding and editing custom code requires Sitebuilder Large. If you have a different package, you’ll need to upgrade before you can use the HTML widget.
Adding the HTML widget
- Add the Custom block to your page.
- Click the yellow Add widget button to open the widget library, find the HTML widget and click it to add it to the block.
You can then embed your code snippet and add more widgets to the block.
You can also start by adding columns and then put the HTML widget in one of them. That way you can have an embedded social media feed on one side and text or media on the other. Placing two HTML widgets side by side in columns lets you, for example, show several embedded Tumblr posts next to each other.
Adding custom code to the HTML widget
- Click the HTML widget in the block to activate its controls.
- Click the </> Custom HTML icon to open the Custom HTML window.
- Type or paste your code snippet into the field and click Submit. Code validation tells you if the code contains errors that could conflict with how Sitebuilder works.
Note: the code doesn’t run while you’re working in Sitebuilder. It only runs in preview mode or on the published site – unless you turn on rendering in the editor.
Combining the HTML widget with other widgets
The Custom block lets you create a unique combination of widgets in a single block. Once you’ve added the HTML widget, you can also add grids and columns, plus more widgets from the list.
New widgets are placed above or below each other (unless you’re using a grid), but you can change their positions by dragging them up and down within the block.
