You embed a Facebook post on your Loopia Sitebuilder website by copying the post’s embed code from Facebook and pasting it into an HTML embed block. An embedded post adds a visual element that can increase clicks and engagement around your social media content.
Note: adding and editing custom code requires Sitebuilder Large. If you have a different package, you’ll need to upgrade to use this feature.
Note: you can only embed public posts from Facebook pages and profiles. See Facebook’s own help on changing a post’s audience.
Step 1 – Get the embed code
- Go to the Facebook post you want to embed and click it to enlarge it.
- Click the three-dot icon (…) in the top right of the post and choose </> Embed from the menu.
- In the next window, choose whether to include the full post and add a start time for any video. Then click Copy code.
Step 2 – Add the embed code to your page
- In Sitebuilder, find where you want to embed the Facebook post and click Add a block (+).
- In the Block library, click the HTML embed block. Note: this block requires Sitebuilder Large.
- Hover over the block to activate its control panel, then click the Custom HTML icon.
- Paste the code you copied from Facebook into the Custom HTML window.
Step 3 – Add <center> tags
To stop the post being pushed to one side of the page, wrap the code in <center> and </center>. Click Submit.
The result isn’t visible in editing mode – you need to publish your site for the code to run. To check how it works before publishing, use the Preview button in the top bar.
Step 4 – Publish the page
When you’re done, click Publish in the top right of Sitebuilder to make the changes visible.
FAQ
What do visitors see in embedded posts?
The embedded post shows all the media attached to it, plus its number of likes, shares and comments – the same rich information shown on Facebook. Visitors can also follow or like content, authors or pages directly from the embedded post.
What happens if someone changes the embedded post on Facebook?
Changes appear on your site immediately. If the post is deleted, a message is shown instead of the embedded post.
