The Videos block in Loopia Sitebuilder lets you embed a video on your page. You upload the video to a hosting platform such as YouTube or Vimeo first, then paste its link or embed code into the block. Video is a great way to get your message across in a format visitors take in easily – for example a how-to guide, a video testimonial or a product demo.
Adding the Videos block
- Choose where you want the block and click Add a block (+).
- In the Block library, scroll down to Videos (or use the search field at the top) and click it.
- Click the ready-made layout you want to add to your page.
Customising the block settings
Click anywhere on the block, then the Block settings icon.
In the Layout tab you can switch the block layout and choose which elements appear. To switch layout, click the matching button, choose a new layout and click Submit – clicking a layout thumbnail previews it on your page, and Cancel undoes the change. To hide an element (for example a button), untick the blue tick next to its name.
In the Appearance tab you can:
- Change the background image (only for layouts that have one).
- Block style: change the block’s colour scheme.
- Block spacing: change the spacing above and below the block.
- Background settings: add a black-and-white filter to the block’s background only.
- Media settings: add a black-and-white filter to the video and background, and add a background image overlay.
Editing block elements
To replace the demo text, click the text element and type, or paste text from your text editor.
Note: remember to click Save in the top right to keep your changes and Publish to make them live.
Embedding a video
To embed a video, first upload it to a video hosting platform such as YouTube, Vimeo, Odysee or Facebook. After uploading, you’ll get an embed code or a link (URL) to the video. Copy it and go back to Sitebuilder.
Click the demo video in your Videos block to activate its menu, then open Settings. On the Media tab you have two options:
- URL for a direct link.
- Code for an iframe embed.
Resizing your video
Resizing the video container is useful for vertical videos or a full Facebook post containing a video, which are usually taller than the default container.
- After embedding a video, click it to show the resize handle on the bottom edge.
- Drag the handle up or down to resize the video. The block layout adjusts automatically.
Remember to Publish your site to make the changes live.
Editing buttons
You can edit the buttons in your Videos block so they lead to other pages on your site or to an external link.
Duplicating the Videos block
- Hover over the Videos block to activate its control panel.
- Click the Duplicate icon.
- An identical Videos block appears below the original. Edit it as described above.
