A block is a building element of your website in Loopia Sitebuilder – a pre-built section, such as Text, Images, Video, Headline, Products or Contacts, that you stack on your pages to build them. There are more than 20 block types, and you add a block by clicking a (+) button above or below an existing block and choosing one from the Block library.
Blocks come pre-built to match the look and feel of your template, which keeps your site’s layout clean and professional on every device.
Tip: think of your site’s structure as divided horizontally – blocks are placed on top of each other, not side by side.
You can add an unlimited number of blocks to your pages and combine them in hundreds of ways to create a unique site. You don’t need to worry about spacing, margins or compatibility: every block in your template is designed to combine with the others while keeping a polished look.
Sitebuilder Large blocks vs regular blocks
Regular blocks are the foundation of your web design. Created by our professional designers, they offer a wide range of layouts and styles, and are available to all users at no extra cost.
For more advanced design options, some blocks require Sitebuilder Large. Exclusive to Sitebuilder Large users, these blocks have sophisticated layouts such as accordion menus, full width and unique design details.
Adding a new block to your template
You can insert blocks between, above or below existing blocks to create a page structure that suits your site strategy:
- Select an existing block on your page. You’ll see two (+) buttons – one at the top and one at the bottom of the block.
- Decide whether the new block should go above or below the existing one, and click the matching button to open the Block library.
- Choose the block type you need from the list. Scroll down to see every option or use the search field at the top of the Block library.
- Once you click a block type, its pre-built blocks appear in a new section on screen. Choose the layout you want.
- Click the block to add it to the page.
Adding a block to a blank page
When you add a blank page, you’ll see a banner saying Start building your page in the middle. Click the (+) button to open the Block library, then follow the same steps as above.
Once you’ve added a block, you can edit its settings, move it, duplicate it or delete it.
