How do you set a custom URL for downloadable files in Loopia Sitebuilder?

Use the Set Download URL feature to give a downloadable file its own URL – for example to upload files like ads.txt or domain verification files, or simply to change the path of a file you’ve uploaded.

Adding a custom URL for a downloadable file

Once you’ve added a downloadable file in Link settings, the only extra step is to tick Set Download URL.

This enables a link field where you type the file path, starting with a slash – for example /ads.txt or /pricelist.pdf.

Note: the address must not end with a slash.

Once you’ve added the URL, click Save and publish your site to apply the change.

Changing the URL of a downloadable file

If you’ve already added a downloadable file and want to change its URL:

1. Click the link, then the link icon to open Link settings. You’ll see that Set Download URL can’t be edited yet.
2. Re-upload the file by clicking Choose file and selecting it again from your device.
3. As soon as the file has been uploaded again, Set Download URL becomes active and you can edit the link.
4. Click Save and publish your site to apply the change.
