You can hide a page from Google and other search engines in Loopia Sitebuilder by ticking a single box in the page’s SEO settings – no code needed.

There are many reasons to keep a page out of search results, including:

• The page is still under development and not ready for visitors.
• The page contains private information (confidential business details, profile data, private correspondence, payment details and so on).
• The page contains near-duplicate information – a common issue for online shops with many products that differ only in size or colour, which search engines treat as duplicates.
• The page has “thin content” (login pages, thank-you pages and similar) that search engines don’t consider valuable to visitors.

Hiding a page from indexing is done by adding a noindex tag to it, which Sitebuilder handles for you.

Adding a noindex tag to a page

1. In the editor, click Pages in the top bar to open the Page Manager.
2. Click the gear icon next to the page you want to manage.
3. In the Page settings window, go to the SEO tab.
4. Tick Hide page from search results.
5. Click Submit to save your changes.
