How do you add a CookieBot cookie declaration in Loopia Sitebuilder?

In addition to the cookie consent banner, you can create a cookie declaration using the CookieBot integration on your site, by embedding the special script CookieBot generates for your page.

Note: adding and editing custom code requires Sitebuilder Large. If you have a different package, you’ll need to upgrade to use this feature.

What the cookie declaration includes

By default, the cookie declaration has five parts:

1. An intro text informing visitors about the site’s use of cookies.
2. Information about which domains the consent applies to.
3. The visitor’s current consent status (which cookie categories they’ve consented to) and the option to change or fully withdraw consent – clicking Change your consent reopens the cookie consent banner.
4. Information about when the declaration was last updated (updated automatically after each site scan).
5. A list of all cookies and trackers used on the site – categorised as Necessary, Preferences, Statistics and Marketing – with descriptions of their purpose (pulled automatically from the site’s latest scan report).

Adding the cookie declaration to your site

When you create a domain group, the cookie declaration scripts are generated automatically. Find them under your CookieBot account → Settings → Your scripts.

1. Create a blank page on your site (for example, called “Cookie Declaration”).
2. Add a Custom block by clicking Add a block → Custom block (requires Sitebuilder Large).
3. In the Custom block, click the (+) button and choose the HTML block from the widget library.
4. In the HTML block, click Custom HTML, then copy the cookie declaration script from CookieBot and paste it into the code editor.
5. Click Submit to save, then Publish your site to make the changes live.

Note: because of how CookieBot’s script works, the editor can’t run the code in preview mode – you can only check how the declaration looks on your published site.
