To keep your website compliant with GDPR and CCPA, you need to obtain visitor consent before collecting their data. CookieBot is a Consent Management Platform (CMP) that helps you make sure you have visitor consent before using cookies and other online trackers.
This integration is free for all Loopia Sitebuilder users.
Note: make sure you’ve published your site before connecting the service, so CookieBot can scan it correctly.
Connecting CookieBot to your site
- In Loopia Sitebuilder, click the menu icon in the top-left corner, then Settings.
- In the Website settings menu, open the Integrations tab (or find it under General → Cookies and user data).
- Find CookieBot and click Connect.
- Follow the instructions and create a Cookiebot CMP account. It’s important to create the account via the Create account button inside Loopia Sitebuilder so the integration works correctly.
- Once you’ve created and confirmed the account, add your domain name to CookieBot – copy the link to your published site into the Domain name field, then click Save in the top-left corner.
- Customise your CookieBot banner under the Dialog tab, or skip this step and come back to it later.
- Copy the Domain Group ID from your CookieBot account and paste it into the matching field in Loopia Sitebuilder, then click Submit.
- Publish your site for the changes to go live.
Once published, visitors will see the cookie consent banner.
Note: connecting the integration automatically disables the basic cookie banner on your site. Scanning can take up to 24 hours to complete after adding your domain name.
