The title tag is shown in the browser tab or window when someone visits your site, and it’s also used as the page title in search engine results. A custom title in the browser matters for SEO, user experience, branding and standing out from others.
This article covers the title shown in the browser tab and search results. If you instead want to change the site name visitors see in your header and footer, click the site name in the header block and type the new name.
To change the site title shown in the browser tab:
- Click Pages in the top bar in Loopia Sitebuilder to open the Page Manager.
- Find your homepage and click its gear icon to open Page settings.
- On the General tab, type the new title in the Page name field, replacing the default “Home”. This can be your business name or something else.
- Click Submit and publish your site to apply the change.
When you now open your site, the homepage title appears as the site title in the browser tab.
Note: if your site is multilingual, you need to change the page name separately for each language. Select the language in the editor’s language switcher, go to Page settings, then repeat for the next language.
