The pre-designed templates and blocks come with images that match the site’s theme. You can keep them, but uploading your own images makes your website unique and builds credibility with visitors.
Choosing the right block for your image
Start by choosing which block the image should sit in. The Image block gives you an image spanning the full width of the row. If you want both an image and text, choose an Image and text block instead, in whichever layout suits your page. Choosing the right block type is what keeps the page mobile-friendly.
Uploading your own images instead of demo images
You can upload images to blocks directly from your computer, or add free stock photos from the built-in image library.
To upload your own image from your computer:
- Click a demo image in the block to activate the image controls.
- Click the Upload image icon, then choose Upload a file from the dropdown menu.
- When your computer’s file browser opens, find the image, click it, then click Open. Within a few seconds the image is uploaded into the image frame.
Sitebuilder automatically adjusts the image’s shape to fit the block’s layout. You can still customise it further – resizing it and adjusting the focal point, for example. See the article Customising your images in Loopia Sitebuilder – crop, resize and set the focal point.
Note: image proportions and layout are preset for a professional, modern look. If you need more images on the page, use blocks such as the Image block or the Gallery block.
Adding images from the stock photo library
To use a free stock photo from the built-in library:
- Click the demo image in the block to activate the image controls.
- Click the Upload image icon, then choose Browse free stock photos from the dropdown menu.
- When the Free stock photos library opens, use the search field to find an image with the theme you want.
- Click the image you want, then click Submit. Within a few seconds the new image is uploaded to your site.
Remember to publish your site for the changes to become visible.
