In order for you to be able to point your domain to new DNS servers through Loopia Customer zone, we need to be the registrar for your domain name. This can be checked via whois.loopia.com where you enter your domain and then select “Search”. Check the search results if we, Loopia AB, is the listed registrar.
If we are not listed as a registrar, you need to transfer the domain to us to be able to change the name servers through your account with us. Read more about this here.
If we however are listed as registrar for your domain name, you can log in to Loopia Customer zone where you can change name servers by clicking on the domain name. If you do not find your domain in the list you can search for your domain name in the search field “Search your services”.
When the dialog appears you click on “Name servers”.
The dialog will expand revealing five fields for entering your desired name servers. It is mandatory to add at least two name servers.
If you want to use Loopia’s name servers, enter ns1.loopia.se and ns2.loopia.se. If you are delegating your domain name to another provider you can get information from them about which name servers to use.
In order for the delegation to propagate you need to enter two DNS-servers that are configured to handle your domain name. If the added name servers does not respond correctly the change will not be made.
You can however force the change by clicking on “Force” to have the domain name delegated without a correct response from the chosen name servers.
When having added the desired name servers you click on Save. If done accordingly you will be greeted by the below message. Note that the change take up to 48 hours to be fully propagated.
You can also make sure that the change has been made by searching for your domain name at whois.loopia.com.
