There’s no separate “proof of ownership” document for a domain name. Instead, you demonstrate ownership by verifying the domain with a TXT or CNAME record, or by showing a copy of an invoice.
What’s shown in WHOIS
Since GDPR came into effect, holder details are hidden in WHOIS for most top-level domains. Some information is still shown – for .se and .nu domains, public information is available via the Swedish Internet Foundation’s website. See our article on what’s shown in WHOIS for the domains we offer.
How to demonstrate ownership
Sometimes verifying the domain with a TXT or CNAME record is enough. Some parties may instead ask for a copy of an invoice – you’ll find all your paid invoices at the bottom of your Loopia Customer Zone.
For some gTLD and ngTLD domains (.com, .net and others), it may be possible to display your details in WHOIS. If that’s relevant for you, contact us at registry@loopia.com with your customer number and domain name, stating that you’d like your contact details published publicly in WHOIS, and we’ll look into the options.
